Airport firm agrees hairdressing code

An airport worker suspended in a row over the amount of hair gel he used is to return to his job after an agreement was reached with his employer.

John Graham will resume his duties at the check-in desk at Stansted airport in Essex following a “fair and sensible” outcome.

The GMB union said it had agreed to work with employers Swissport to improve the clarity of rules about hairstyles.

Swissport said: “Maintaining high uniform appearance standards was at the very heart of this issue and we welcome the GMB’s willingness to continue to work with us to this end.”
