Retail union Usdaw is launching a ‘lifelong learning’ project at the Morrisons superstore in Ayr aimed at boosting the skills of the workforce.
Usdaw runs similar schemes across the UK, providing courses to more than 10,000 of its members and the Morrisons store is its latest Scottish project.
Lisa Shimmons union learning rep at the Ayr store, has been persuading colleagues to visit a learning roadshow which is coming to the store tomorrow.

“My colleagues are keen to take a look at the wide range of courses on offer which I believe will unleash the massive potential of the workforce in our store,” she said.
“This is also about making sure every member of the team here gets the chance to improve their skills, from writing and numeracy to even learning a bit of Spanish for the holidays.”
