Discrimination

It is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against an employee or job applicant because of any of the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010.

The nine protected characteristics are age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, religion or belief, and marriage and civil partnership.
