Relocation

Employers may relocate to new premises, perhaps because the old premises have become too small or because the business has been bought, leading to a TUPE transfer. Relocation of individual employees is also common.

The employer may include a mobility clause entitling it to move the employee to a different workplace. Employers may run a relocation assistance scheme to help employees with the move.

The relocation of employees can be a particular challenge where the move is abroad. Employers that commonly send employees abroad should have an international assignments policy in place.
