International media group Schibsted, has appointed Nicki Dexter, former HR director of Telefonica Digital. Nicki joins as vice president of HR – Products and Technology.
Head quartered in Oslo, Schibsted Media Group has over 7,000 employees in 30 countries, from Mexico to Norway. Its business activities include newspapers, online classifieds, publishing, multimedia and mobile services. The company is currently organised into three business areas – marketplaces, media houses and Schibsted Growth.
Nicki joins in a newly created role as vice president of HR – Products and Technology and will be based in London. The Products and Technology group has been set up to keep Schibsted at the forefront of media innovation, entrepreneurship and technology. It has the freedom and creativity of a start-up, with the global reach and backing of Schibsted Media Group. As the head of HR for this group, Nicki will lead the creation and management of a team responsible for developing state of the art, innovative HR products and services to power Schibsted’s digital future. Her responsibilities will be to drive change, build strategic workforce and competence planning and to develop and maintain a learning-focussed culture. This will ultimately build a unique and world-class employee experience for the new teams being created in London, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, Krakow and Oslo. Nicki’s team includes five global HR business partners and five people co-ordinators.
Nicki had previously been HR director at Telefonica Digital. Here her projects included the global launch of a new HR system, the redesign of the operating model for the company’s Product, Technology and Innovation businesses, and the design and delivery of executive and leadership development programmes.
